"You can live without food. You don't need them!" "Wake up with the thought: today I am lighter, today I'm beautiful", "Ana – your best friend, don't tell anyone about it." Such phrases are full of popular online communities dedicated to anorexia. Ana is the short name of anorexia nervosa, mental illness in which a person deliberately refuses to eat. Common among teenagers, according to unofficial data, in 50% of cases, the disease leads to death. Young girls are ready, their weight did not exceed 40 pounds. But the main goal – the mark of 30. As a rule, the diet of girls with anorexia are vegetables, fruits and water. No more than 500 calories per day. The next phase disorder – bulimia. Many people with anorexia are aware of their problem, but the fear of gaining extra grams make it similar to drug addiction.

"I live and work in Moscow. I have a PhD. Candidate. I started as a theatre photographer, then worked as a freelance photojournalist for various publications. Filmed reportages on social themes and cultural life of Moscow. In 2015 I completed a course Nikita Evdokimov about creative photography, then took a course Valery Nistratov at the Rodchenko school, the art of documentary photography.
